Kitchen Renovation + Styling   | Kāneʻohe, Hawai’i

This kitchen renovation transformed a closed-off, dated space into an open, light-filled kitchen with improved flow and functionality.

By removing the demising wall between the kitchen and dining room and eliminating the dropped ceiling, the renovation created a true open floor plan that connects the kitchen to the rest of the home. The footprint was expanded just enough to allow better movement and circulation, making a noticeable difference in how the space functions day to day. Updated lighting, new flooring, and thoughtful material selections created a cohesive foundation, while warm finishes and layered textures ensured the kitchen felt elevated and inviting.

Before

The original kitchen felt small and enclosed, separated from the dining room by a demising wall. A dropped ceiling and outdated lighting further contributed to the dark, closed-in feeling of the space.

After

The renovation introduced a timeless foundation through classic shaker cabinetry, finished in a soft off-white to keep the space feeling light and elevated. Herringbone tile flooring adds subtle movement while maintaining a clean, classic look.

Champagne bronze hardware warms the palette and pairs naturally with the quartz countertops, while warm wood accents — including floating shelves and window trim — bring balance and depth to the crisp finishes.

The space was then styled to enhance the renovation, layering in collected art, pieces from travel, plants, and everyday objects to create a kitchen that feels personal, lived-in, and reflective of the homeowners.
